Sing & Phonecast
DIAL-A-DIVA for Singers, Performers & Phonecasters*
Are you a singer or a concert-goer, theatre enthusiast? To be part of DIAL-A-DIVA all you need to do is sing or talk into a telephone, or use your phone as a microphone wherever singing or vocal performance happens.
Dial-a-Diva call centre will link as many different types of singing, from as many locations as possible to a wide international audience of telephone listeners. Whether at home, in a concert hall or bar, whether professionally or just for fun, whether accompanied or solo, whatever the vocal performace Dial-a-Diva would love to have you taking part. Sign up, we’ll arrange a slot in the schedule and call you at the time of your concert wherever you are - world wide participation is free.
*Phonecaster: a person attending a performace who uses their telephone as a microphone to broadcast the sound to the Dial-a-Diva call centre live for the event.
How it Works:
On the day a member of the Dial-a-Diva team will call you just prior to the agreed performance time, this call will not be live to listeners so there is a moment for performers and team members to talk and do a quick sound check. When agreed your concert will be announced and go live through the call centre to all the telephone listeners. For more details on this process see below.
Tip for happy phonecasting:
- For the actual phonecast make sure that the phone is set to SILENT so as not to interrupt the concert you are giving or attending!
- For acoustic performance sing/ speak directly into the phone or get as close as you can to the performers.
- For amplified performance you may need a little distance from the speakers to avoid distortion.
- We will be able to assist you in judging this with a sound check just before you go live.
Happy phonecasting – thanks for taking part.
